The shoe
- One 52-card deck plus a yellow cut card.
- Continuous deal, like a casino shoe — the deck is not shuffled every hand.
- The cut card is placed 10–15 cards from the bottom.

When the yellow cut card comes out: finish the current hand, deal one more complete hand, then shuffle the whole deck and replace the cut card.
How you can tell a shuffle happened
- A yellow cut card slides out of the shoe.
- The felt banner says the current hand will finish, then one more hand.
- After that extra hand settles, the table shows “Deck shuffled. Yellow cut card replaced.”
The rules
- Dealer stands on all 17s (S17), including soft 17. Draws to 16.
- Natural blackjack pays 3 to 2. Push if both you and the dealer have blackjack.
- Hit, stand, and double on your first two cards. Double after split is allowed. No surrender.
- Split a pair once. No resplit. A pair is the same rank, or any two ten-value cards.
- A two-card 21 after a split is not a natural — it pays 1 to 1.
- Insurance is offered when the dealer’s upcard is an Ace, and pays 2 to 1 (up to half your bet).
- Even money is offered as the usual insurance shortcut when you have blackjack vs an Ace.
- The hole card is dealt face down. You act first. Then the dealer reveals and plays.
Dealer peek
US-style peek: if the upcard is an Ace or a ten-value card, the dealer peeks for blackjack. On an Ace you are offered insurance (or even money) first. If the peek finds blackjack, the hand is settled and you do not play out the hand.
